Pictured Rocks

Pictured Rocks located on Michigan's Upper Peninsula absolutely gorgeous.

Shauna, Brooke, Gary and I set out Wednesday, Aug 6 for the Mosquito Campsite.

Shauna - definitely the most experienced female backpacker of the group is famous for spectacular falls while fully "packed". We were on the trail less than 3 minutes when I heard a "splat" behind me - this is the result.

Day Two - The Hike to Chapel Campsite

A couple of interesting things . . .
Cute little red and blue flowers all along the trail.

Shauna displays the full bag of trail mix on left. On the right - after I ate all of the pistachios and almonds out.

Great pics, we are jealous. We are hoping to plan some 1/2 day trips when the temps drop below 102 degrees!

Our first attempt is Enchanted Rock near Fredricksburg, but I don't think it will compare to Pictured Rocks.

Hope you all had a great trip.

Hey Gary, shirt looks familiar - like "you haven't washed it since Yosemite" familiar. The scenery looks stunning. But you mean to tell me there wasn't any chafing worth mentioning? BORING! Was my invitation lost in the mail? Karan, when can I expect you to start texting me and sending notices that you've updated your MySpace page?

Who's Shauna's burly friend?
